Organic German Chamomile Essential Oil

Are you looking for the most anti-inflammatory chamomile, with its characteristic blue chamazulene profile and alpha-bisabolol profile, for cosmetic care of sensitive and reactive skin, in a 2ml format adapted for the precise use of this precious active ingredient? The Organic German Chamomile EO from Herbes et Traditions (Matricaria recutita, German chamomile) is distilled from chamomile flowers. Chamazulene (2-25%), which forms during distillation, gives it its characteristic blue color and specific cosmetic properties. 2ml. Ecocert organic certified.

Aromatic and cosmetic profile

  • Blue chamazulene (2-25% depending on quality): the specific cosmetic active ingredient: a sesquiterpene formed during distillation through the thermal transformation of matricin. Its intense blue color is the visual marker of quality for German chamomile EO.
  • Dominant alpha-bisabolol (30-55%): a sesquiterpene alcohol with documented skin-softening and soothing properties. Quantitatively the main cosmetic active ingredient.
  • Floral-herbaceous and slightly sweet scent: less apple-like than Roman chamomile, more herbaceous and deep. The blue tint of the EO is visually spectacular.
  • 2ml: precision format for this highly concentrated cosmetic active ingredient. Ecocert organic. Herbes et Traditions.

FAQ

Why is German chamomile EO blue?
The blue color comes from chamazulene, a sesquiterpene formed during steam distillation through the thermal transformation of matricin (a colorless precursor present in the fresh flower). The higher the chamazulene content, the more intense the blue of the EO. It is a quality marker.

What is the difference from Roman chamomile?
Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) is dominated by terpene esters with a very sweet apple scent. German chamomile (Matricaria recutita) is dominated by bisabolol and chamazulene: a more anti-inflammatory cosmetic profile, blue color. Two very different EOs despite the same common name.

Why the 2ml format?
Quality German chamomile (high chamazulene content) is very expensive to produce. The 2ml format is standard for this precious EO used in very small quantities in cosmetic care.
