Organic Avocado Vegetable Oil
Are you looking for a rich, nourishing, and deeply penetrating vegetable oil with a comprehensive fatty acid profile for treating very dry skin, intensive hair masks, and winter massage blends? Herbes et Traditions Organic Avocado Vegetable Oil (Persea gratissima) is cold-pressed from avocado pulp. Very rich in oleic acid (55-70%), palmitoleic acid, and specific unsaponifiables (phytosterols, chlorophyll), it is one of the most nutritious and penetrating vegetable oils in natural cosmetics. 50ml. Organic Ecocert.
Cosmetic profile and properties
- Very rich in oleic acid (omega-9, 55-70%): a highly emollient and nourishing profile, similar to olive oil but lighter and more penetrating for skin care.
- Palmitoleic acid (omega-7, 5-10%): a rare fatty acid naturally present in human sebum. Promotes suppleness and hydration for mature skin.
- Rich in specific unsaponifiables: phytosterols, squalene, and natural chlorophyll (the characteristic green color of natural avocado oil). These unsaponifiables contribute to the avocado's regenerating properties.
- Natural green color: natural chlorophyll gives cold-pressed avocado oil its characteristic green color. A colorless avocado oil has been refined—a sign of quality loss.
- Ideal for very dry and mature skin: its richness in omega-9 and unsaponifiables makes it an intensive treatment for very dehydrated skin and mature skin losing its suppleness.
- 50ml: Organic Ecocert. Herbes et Traditions.

How to use this vegetable oil?
Body care for very dry skin: apply pure after showering to damp skin. Its denser texture is suitable for very dry winter skin.
Intensive hair mask: apply generously to dry hair, lengths, and ends. Wrap in a warm towel for 30 to 60 minutes. Rinse with shampoo.
Facial care for mature and very dry skin: mix in equal parts with argan or jojoba oil to lighten the texture and create a complete facial treatment.
Massage preparation: an excellent massage base on its own or mixed with other vegetable oils for nourishing massages.
Precautions
- For external use only
- Test on a small area before first use in case of latex allergy (cross-allergy possible)
- Its dense texture may be too heavy for combination to oily skin—in this case, prefer a lighter vegetable oil
- Store away from heat and light
- Keep out of reach of children
FAQ
Why is avocado oil green?
The green color comes from the chlorophyll naturally present in avocado pulp. Quality cold-pressed avocado oil is always more or less green. If the oil is completely transparent, it has been refined—which eliminates some of the active ingredients and natural color.
Is avocado oil suitable for combination skin?
It is rich and may be too heavy for combination to oily skin. For facial use on combination skin, mix 30% avocado oil with 70% jojoba oil to balance the textures. For targeted body care (heels, elbows), it remains very suitable for all types.
Can you make an avocado-castor oil mask for hair?
Yes, it is a very popular hair synergy. Avocado (nourishing, penetrating) + castor (film-forming, strengthening): one-third avocado, two-thirds castor, apply to lengths and ends, leave on for 1 hour. Result: nourished, shiny, and protected hair.
