Organic Fenugreek Vegetable Oil

Fenugreek oil is renowned in natural cosmetics for its nourishing and coating properties for dry, fine, and brittle hair. Extracted by cold pressing the seeds of Trigonella foenum-graecum, it is rich in linoleic acid (omega-6, 25-30%), oleic acid (omega-9, 15-20%), and specific phytosterols that give it an enveloping and melting texture. Its characteristic fenugreek scent is unmistakable. 50ml. Organic Ecocert. Herbes et Traditions.

Cosmetic profile and properties

  • Rich in phytosterols and mucilages: the specific unsaponifiables of fenugreek form a coating film on the hair shaft, making hair smoother, shinier, and easier to detangle.
  • Benchmark hair care for fine and brittle hair: used as a hair mask or pre-shampoo treatment, it deeply nourishes without weighing down the lengths.
  • Dry scalp treatment: massage into the scalp to nourish and soothe tight, dry scalps.
  • Dry skin care: can be used as a body treatment on very dry skin areas, elbows, knees, heels.
  • 50ml: Organic Ecocert. Herbes et Traditions.

FAQ

Does fenugreek oil have a strong smell?
Yes, its characteristic odor (slightly spicy, similar to caramel-celery) is very recognizable. It fades after absorption and rinsing. For daily use, diluting it in a neutral VO like jojoba makes the blend much more pleasant.

Can it be used on all hair types?
It is particularly recommended for fine, dry, and brittle hair. For thick and naturally oily hair, the amount should be kept to a minimum (1 to 2 drops on the ends only) to avoid an overly heavy effect.

What is the difference between fenugreek oil and powder in hair care?
Fenugreek powder is rich in water-soluble mucilages that form a natural hair gel when mixed with water. The oil is a fatty substance that nourishes the hair fiber through lipophilic action. Both are complementary for a complete hair care routine.
