Organic Cornflower Hydrosol

Cornflower hydrosol is the gold-standard aqueous treatment for soothing and decongesting tired eye contours and swollen eyelids. Obtained by steam distillation of Centaurea cyanus flowers, it is one of the gentlest and best-tolerated hydrosols in natural cosmetics, used for generations for ocular care and the treatment of sensitive skin. 200ml. Organic Ecocert. Herbes et Traditions.

Cosmetic profile and properties

  • Gold-standard eye contour treatment: cornflower is historically the most widely used hydrosol for tired, red eyes and swollen eyelids. Its exceptional ocular tolerance makes it one of the few hydrosols that can be used in direct contact with the eyes.
  • Soothing and decongestant: cornflower active ingredients (anthocyanins, flavonoids) in an aqueous solution soften reactive skin and sensitive areas of the face.
  • Facial toner for sensitive skin: used after cleansing as a soothing toner for red and reactive skin.
  • Irritated eye treatment: a few drops on a cotton pad or as a cold compress on closed eyelids to decongest in a few minutes.
  • 200ml: Organic Ecocert. Herbes et Traditions.

FAQ

Can cornflower hydrosol be put directly into the eyes?
Cornflower hydrosol is one of the very few hydrosols historically used in contact with the eyes. However, it is advisable to check the product label to ensure this use is indicated. For ophthalmic use, prefer a sterile product certified for this purpose.

How long does cornflower hydrosol last after opening?
3 months maximum when stored in the refrigerator. Hydrosols are floral waters without synthetic preservatives that can degrade rapidly at room temperature. A hydrosol that smells sour or fermented must be discarded.

Can it be used as a base for a face mask?
Yes, mix cornflower hydrosol with white or green clay for a homemade soothing mask. Replace water with hydrosol in all DIY cosmetic preparations for sensitive skin.
