Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a parasitic fungus that grows on birch trees in the boreal forests of Eurasia and North America. Used for centuries in traditional Siberian and Russian medicine, Chaga is renowned for its exceptional concentration of bioactive compounds: polysaccharides (30%, including beta-glucans), fungal triterpenes (2%, including inotodiol, betulin, and betulinic acid), polyphenols (5%), melanins, and minerals.
