How to use Dr.Valnet Clary Sage essential oil?

Caution! Clary Sage essential oil is not toxic, but due to its estrogen-like action, it is only authorized for adults and adolescents. It can be used as a diluted topical application and by inhalation. Oral use, however, is reserved for therapists. Caution, it is formally contraindicated for hormone-dependent cancerous pathologies, mastopathies, and fibroids. Some botanical notes

Native to southern Europe and Western Asia, clary sage is a biennial or perennial herbaceous plant, very fragrant and very hairy, reaching up to 1.60 meters in height. Easy to cultivate, it prefers calcareous, well-drained, and sunny soils. Its erect, branched, quadrangular stems are very woody. Its large oval leaves are opposite, and its pale blue or lilac bell-shaped flowers are distributed along the main stem and secondary branches. Edible, like its leaves, they emit a powerful fragrance somewhat reminiscent of passion fruit.

A little history…

In Latin, "salvia" means to heal or save.

According to an ancient Greek legend, Zeus was suckled by the goat Amalthea near a bush of sages. These sages would have endowed her milk with divine power.

What was called in Roman mythology the "plant of Jupiter" or the "sacred herb" has always been endowed with extraordinary powers.

In many ancient cultures (Etruscan, Greek, and Roman), it had virtues of protection and purification, among others. It was also said to be capable of developing maturity and spiritual wisdom.

In the Middle Ages in Europe, it was cultivated in monastery gardens and used by monks to treat many ailments, as it was said to be "good for everything."

A typical "curé's garden" plant, clary sage has been cultivated for centuries.

Its cultivation was also recommended in royal domains by Charlemagne in the Capitular De Villis (late 8th and early 9th century).
