Description

Pineapple, Ananas sativa or Ananas comosus, is an exotic perennial plant of the Bromeliaceae family.

Christopher Columbus was, it seems, the first European to taste it in Guadeloupe in the Antilles archipelago, where the fruit is cultivated by the natives. However, it is believed to be originally from Brazil and Paraguay. Its name is said to come from the Guarani word "nana", meaning fragrant.

Delicious and refreshing, its fruit provides many minerals, trace elements, and vitamins. Its stem, on the other hand, contains an original enzyme, bromelain.

Pineapple (Ananas sativa) stem: 250 mg, capsule shell: pullulan gelling agent.
