FAQ
Is lemon EO photosensitizing like bergamot?
Yes, both contain furanocoumarins. Cold-pressed lemon EO is photosensitizing. A distilled version (less photosensitizing) exists but is less aromatic. Always avoid sun exposure within 12 hours of skin application.
How long does lemon EO keep?
Lemon EO is rich in monoterpenes that oxidize relatively quickly: 1 to 2 years from opening, stored in a cool place away from light. Oxidized EO can become irritating.
Which EOs blend best with lemon for diffusion?
Peppermint (fresh-minty accord), lavender (fresh-floral), eucalyptus (fresh-camphoraceous), and ginger (citrus-spice) are among the best synergies.
