Organic Spike Lavender Essential Oil

Looking for a lavender richer in cineole and camphor than fine lavender, with a stimulating and decongestant profile for topical muscle and respiratory cosmetic preparations, featuring a more powerful and less floral scent than true lavender? The Organic Spike Lavender EO from Herbes et Traditions (Lavandula latifolia) is a broad-leaved lavender from lower altitudes (0-600m). With 20-35% 1,8-cineole, 15-30% camphor, and 30-45% linalool, its profile is much more potent and stimulating than fine lavender (Lavandula angustifolia). 10ml. Ecocert organic certified.

Aromatic and cosmetic profile

  • Mixed linalool-cineole-camphor profile: one-third linalool (soothing), one-third cineole (fresh, stimulating), one-third camphor (penetrating, camphorous). A profile very different from fine lavender.
  • More powerful camphorous lavender scent: less floral and more medicinal than fine lavender. Instantly recognizable for its characteristic camphorous note.
  • Topical cosmetic care: widely used in massage cosmetic preparations for the chest (adults) and muscle areas, thanks to its penetrating cineole-camphor profile.
  • 10ml: Organic Ecocert. Herbes et Traditions.

FAQ

What is the difference between spike lavender and fine lavender?
Fine lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is rich in linalool (35-50%) and linalyl acetate, with no significant camphor or cineole: gentle, floral, very well tolerated. Spike lavender (Lavandula latifolia) contains camphor (15-30%) and cineole (20-35%) in addition to linalool: more powerful, more camphorous, less floral, with more contraindications.

Which lavender for children?
Fine lavender only, diluted, for children over 3 years old. Spike lavender is contraindicated before 8 years old due to its camphor and cineole content.

Can spike lavender be used as a substitute for lavandin?
Yes, spike lavender and lavandin super have similar profiles (cineole + camphor + linalool). Spike lavender generally has more camphor, while lavandin has more cineole. Interchangeable for most adult uses.
