Visual health relies on a balance between antioxidant protection (the retina is one of the tissues most exposed to oxidative stress), ocular microcirculation and the intake of macular pigments. Opt'Activ addresses these three dimensions. Blueberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) and its anthocyanins promote the regeneration of rhodopsin, the visual pigment of the rods, improving night vision and reducing visual fatigue. Lutein (6 mg) and zeaxanthin (1 mg) filter harmful blue wavelengths and make up the macular pigments that protect the macula. Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal vision (official EFSA claim). Ginkgo biloba improves microcirculation in the small blood vessels of the eye. Omega-3 EPA/DHA support the structure of the retinal membranes.
