How do these plants work?

Senna (Senna alexandrina, 20% of the extract) contains sennosides A and B, anthraquinones that stimulate intestinal peristalsis and accelerate transit. Birch (Betula pendula) is a traditional diuretic plant that promotes the renal elimination of toxins and reduces water retention. Spiny restharrow (Ononis spinosa) is used in herbal medicine for its draining and depurative properties. Common bean extract (Phaseolus vulgaris) is traditionally associated with weight management.
